Hello from Your Lake Jennings: This weekend the anglers struggled to get bit whether it was bass, cats or trout. Suprisingly a few limits of trout came off the fishing float and Shadow Cove. . The first signs of shad being chased on the surface by bass happened early mornings and a few fish were taken by topwater casting to the boils. The cats were the biggest disappointment. The back end of Hermit Cove and the bird trees were the best bet but the average there was 1 cat per person.
Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove and the fishing float
Best Trout Lures / Bait: Power Bait on a 4 ft. leader dipped in scent.
Best Cat Spots: Bird trees and Hermit Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Think postspawn. Sentry and Eagle Points in 25 to 30 ft. Topwater at the bank early and late and the Hermit Cove and the Shadow Cove Buoylines casting to the boils.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshotting 4" worms. Frogs and chug bugs.
Water Temp. 70 to 71 degrees on surface.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: Remember that we do not open until 5 PM on Friday. No stocking this week but with the success rate of this week there are still a lot out there.
The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing?Ķ?Ķ

Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from Lake Jennings! We start our night fishing this Memorial Weekend but because it is a holiday weekend we will open at 5:45 Friday morning instead of our usual 5 PM opening for night fishing. The rest of the Summer we will open at the regular 5 PM time. Trout and bass are expected to be slow but the cats should be easy to target as they have moved closer to shore. Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers on a...... Read More
