Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Our fish took the Mothers Day weekend off. Some are blaming the full moon. The trout bite isn't. The only good spot from shore has been the fishing float. Boaters need to concentrate on the middle of Half Moon and south of Eagle Point. Crawlers are outperforming Power Bait. The bass are definitely post spawn. 20 ft. clear water dictates light lines. If you want to get frustrated cruise the shore and look at all the big girls getting suntans in the trees. One of those succumbed to a frog, the rest just ignored all the other enticements. Speaking of catfish: Night fishing starts Memorial Day weekend. Starting May 22 you can fish until midnight on Friday and Saturday. We will also be open on Memorial Day.

Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake.
Best Trout Lures / Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped in scent.

Best Cat Spots: Bird trees and floating boathouse.
Best Cat Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft. along the shore and off the points. Think post spawn..
Best Bass Lures /bait: Dropshooting10" black Power Worms and 4" margarita mutilator worms.

Water Temp. 68 to 69 degrees on surface.

Notables: Fri., Matt Savant , El Cajon, 12-0 and 18-0 channel cats, black jig, secret spot.

Prognosis: Start thinking catfish and red ears. Both are showing up on the bank. Trout will be found out at the buoyline and in the deeper channels. Start looking for bank bass early and late.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching cat fishing?Ķ?Ķ

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: If your memory is like mine then you won't recognize that this week's report is just like last weeks. The trout have started to move out to deeper water. A few limits were caught out by the buoyline by drifting nightcrawlers down to 100 ft. Bass are scattered. Most are being caught off the points in 20 ft. of water. A few are being caught along the bank. It...... Read More
