Hello from Lake Jennings! We start our night fishing this Memorial Weekend but because it is a holiday weekend we will open at 5:45 Friday morning instead of our usual 5 PM opening for night fishing. The rest of the Summer we will open at the regular 5 PM time. Trout and bass are expected to be slow but the cats should be easy to target as they have moved closer to shore.

Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers on a 2 ft. leader dipped in scent.

Best Catfish Spots: Bird trees and floating boathouse.
Best Catfish Bait: Night crawlers and mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft. along the shore and off the points. Think post-spawn?Ķ
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Drop-shooting 10" black Power Worms and 4" margarita mutilator worms.

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: We had our first 1,000 lbs. of catfish delivered on Friday just in time for the Memorial weekend. Like all holiday weekends we will be open on Monday. Also since it is a three-day weekend we will still open at 5:45 AM Friday. It is our first night that we will be open until midnight.

Water Temperature: 70 to 71 degrees on surface.

Holiday Weekend Schedule: We'll be open this Friday and Saturday 5:45 a.m. ??? Midnight, and Sunday and Monday from 5:45 a.m. ??? 8:30 p.m.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: If your memory is like mine then you won't recognize that this week's report is just like last weeks. The trout have started to move out to deeper water. A few limits were caught out by the buoyline by drifting nightcrawlers down to 100 ft. Bass are scattered. Most are being caught off the points in 20 ft. of water. A few are being caught along the bank. It...... Read More
