Hello from your Lake Jennings! Reminder: We're open Labor Day from 5:30 AM until 8:45 PM! Fishing was poor this weekend. A few had terrific fishing but were keeping their cards close to their chest. Also spots that were hot Friday were iced over on Saturday and Sunday. In terms of what and where it was the same but the numbers were greatly reduced. The bass are tight on the bank early and late with the daytime bite in 40 to 50 ft. of water. The cats are deep with the dam buoy line the spot to go.

Best Catfish Spots: The buoy lines, down the middle of Half Moon Cove and the East side of Half Moon Cove.

Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.

Best Bass Spots: Dusk on the bank; daytime bass are stacked up in 25 to 50 ft. of water on Sentry Point.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Frogs, chug bugs, Bass Assassins, Shiners and pink worms.

Notables: Fri., Georgia Bynum, Alpine, 21-0 blue cat, mackerel, Shadow Cove at the buoy line casting towards the dam. Sat., James Shaffer, Santee, 8-8 channel cat, mackerel, boat dock.

Water Temperature: 80 degrees.

Prognosis: We will be open on Labor Day and this weekend is our last for night fishing. We then return to our ?? hour before sunrise to ?? hour after sunset schedule on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Typically, the best bass bite of the year happens in September and October.

Holiday Weekend Schedule: We'll be open this Friday from 5:00 p.m. ??? 11:45 p.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. ??? 11:45 p.m., Sunday from 5:30 a.m. ??? 8:30 p.m. and Monday (Labor Day) from 5:30 a.m. ??? 8:30 p.m. Remember, a lantern is required for both shore AND boat anglers after 8:00PM!
