Hello from your Lake Jennings! Our night fishing season went out with a whimper. The lake was sooo hot that the crawdads were climbing out of the water already cooked. All we had to do is pick them up and dip them in garlic and butter. Most of our anglers missed out on this repast because they stayed home in front of the AC. The cats are deep with the dam buoy line the spot to go. Every bass caught was earned. If you fished in the middle of the day: fugetaboutit.

Best Catfish Spots: The buoy lines, down the middle of Half Moon Cove.

Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.

Best Bass Spots: Dusk on the bank; daytime bass are stacked up in 25 to 50 ft. of water on Sentry Point.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Frogs, chug bugs, Bass Assassins, Shiners and pink worms.

Notables: Sat., Nick Latino, Lakeside, 5-11 and 3-2 largemouths, shiners, Siesta Cove.

Water Temperature: 80 degrees.

Prognosis: Typically the best bass bite of the year happens in September and October. The cats tend to get their second wind about the first of October.
