Hello and Happy Thanksgiving from your Lake Jennings!
The Lake will be open every day this week for the Thanksgiving holiday, so grab your rod and reel and come on out. This trout season is revving up to be a good one, with some early limits and several tagged fish being landed. If you haven't heard, Turner's Outdoorsman is our "Tagged Trout" sponsor this season, so catch a trout with a tag and bring it up the Bait and Tackle Shop to find out what you've won. As you will read below, these prizes are great ones any today may be your lucky day. This week the lake will be receiving an additional 1,000 pounds of Sierra Bows.
The increase in trout has the bass excited, with several reports of bass chasing swimbaits. One angler landed a nice bass off the T-dock using an 8" swimbait.
Bluegill and catfish are still in the mix. The bluegills have been reported sticking close to cover and the cats though spread out are still on the prowl.
Please stop by the Bait & Tackle Shop and report your catch, and if you need some fishing advice ask a friendly ranger.
Check out below for the full Trout Stocking Schedule and sign up for the weekly "Fishermen's News" so you don't miss out on any surprises like Lightning Trout. They may show up, but if you're not following you'll just be reading about it after they're gone. This is also a great way to stay up to date on what's working and what's not; we want you to catch fish!
The campground is expected to fill up this Thanksgiving week; a few tent sites are still available. The lake is open all week. Make your reservation today. As a camper you can purchase your permit the day before and get started right away.
If you have any questions or for more information check out the links below or call at 619.390.1623 and we would be happy to assist.
