Hello from your Lake Jennings!
I'm going to keep this short and simple. Trout season starts this Saturday, November 15th. The gates open at 6:00 am sharp, and I suggest you line up early. Everyone must purchase a permit whether it be for fishing or day use before leaving the Bait & Tackle parking lot. We are planting 4,000 pounds of trout, the largest opening stocking in the county and the top two best trout available, Sierra Bows and Nebraska Tailwalkers. PLEASE MAKE NOTE: Lake Jennings will be CLOSED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th for stocking and settle in time and will reopen to start the season at 6:00 am Saturday, November 15th. Lake Jennings is providing prizes, food and a good time thanks to all of our sponsors.
A Special Thank You goes out to the following for their support in the Trout Opener:
The local Turner's Outdoorsman is our Tagged Fish Sponsor giving out prizes.
A local BBQ expert, Smoke n Aces BBQ will provide pulled pork sliders and one of his 1st Place chilis.
Lakeside Sagebrush 4-H for their time in event preparation and day of assistance.
Lakeside Manzanita 4-H for their time in event preparation and day of assistance.
Thanks to all the local bait & tackle shops for your generous donations. A big thank you to Bill at Barnacle Bills,
Diane at Lakeside Bait & Tackle, Gene at East County Bait & Tackle, and Rod & Reel Radio for helping to spread the word.
Permits MUST be purchased before going past the Bait & Tackle Shop or you will have to go back in line.
The past few weeks have been great fishing for bass whether you use shiners, swimbaits, crawdads or plastics. The lake is filling back up so all species are on the move.
Check out below for the beginning schedule of trout stocking. You can also "friend us" on Facebook or sign up for the Weekly Fishermen's News. Follow along this season to know what's working and what's not; we want you to catch fish!
PLEASE MAKE NOTE: Lake Jennings will be closed Friday, November 14th for stocking and settle in time. The Trout Season will start at 6:00 am Saturday, November 15th. See you all there!
The campground still has a few non-hookup sites available so grab them quick because we will sell out. The campground is open year round and is currently in the Long Term season (minimum 30 days) which will run until the end of March. Long term stays MUST be in a camping trailer, 5th wheel trailer, RV, or motorhome, not tents. If you have any questions or for more information check out the links below or call at 619.390.1623 and we would be happy to assist.
