Hello from your Lake Jennings!
Less than 2 weeks and Lake Jennings will start the 2014-15 Trout Season with a whopping 4,000 pounds, the largest opening day stocking in the county! This stocking will include the two most popular trout being stocked in California, the Sierra Bows and the Nebraska Tailwalkers. PLEASE MAKE NOTE: Lake Jennings will be CLOSED FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th for stocking and settle in time, and will reopen to start the season at 6:00 am Saturday, November 15th. Prizes will be given out to the five largest trout caught that day, so I can't say this enough, put on some fresh line because I can't weigh in "Fish Stories"!A Special Thank You goes out to the following for their support in the Trout Opener:
The local Turner's Outdoorsman will have a booth setup and is also our Tagged Fish Sponsor giving out prizes.A local BBQ expert, Smoke n Aces BBQ, will be providing pulled pork sliders and one of the best gourmet chili's you will ever have the privilege of tasting.
Lakeside Sagebrush 4-H for their time in event preparation and day of assistance.
Lakeside Manzanita 4-H for their time in event preparation and day of assistance.
Angler's Arsenal - Barnacle Bills Bait & Tackle - East County Bait & Tackle - Lakeside Bait & Tackle - Thank you all for your continued support of Lake Jennings.
Permits MUST be purchased before going past the Bait & Tackle Shop or you will have to go back in line.
Moving on to this weekend's report, the fishing continues to be good for bass and cats, partially because as quick as the water level dropped, it's filling back up. This means there are a lot of currents back and forth, bait is on the move, and fish are competing over new territory which keeps everything very active.
Check out below for the beginning schedule of trout stocking. You can also "friend us" on Facebook or sign up for the Weekly Fishermen's News. Follow along this season to know what's working and what's not; we want you to catch fish!
PLEASE MAKE NOTE: Lake Jennings will be closed Friday, November 14th for stocking and settle in time. The Trout Season will open at 6:00 am Saturday, November 15th. See you all there! The campground continues to show improving trends, and for those camping over the next few months we will have Arts & Crafts on Saturday afternoons and Campfire with S'mores on Saturday evenings, all ages welcome.
The campground is open year round and is currently in the Long Term season (minimum 30 days) which will run until the end of March. Long term stays MUST be in a camping trailer, 5th wheel trailer, RV, or motorhome, not tents. If you have any questions, or for more information check out the links below or call at 619.390.1623 and we would be happy to assist you.

Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! This was another warm weekend, so most anglers came out early or came out late. Not too much of a report this week but cats were your best bet, and just a reminder, the channel cats can be targeted year round and the big blue cats bite best during the fall. I'm very excited to announce that our trout season is right around the corner and have we got a great season planned for you this year!...... Read More
