Hello from your Lake Jennings!

BREAKING NEWS: Department of Fish and Game aka Department of Fish and Game has APPROVED Lake Jennings to STOCK WIPERS. 1,200 pounds of the White Bass/Striped Bass Hybrid will be stocked Wednesday, July 31st 2013. That's 1,200 pounds put into Lake Jennings next week. The lake is open every day this month so come on by to see this species introduced. Moving on, not much has changed for this week. The top water bite for bass is going on during the first and last hour of daylight. The lake level is being brought down so bass that were in the 25-30' may be much closer. The Cat bite continues in the coves and the Red Ears continue to stick around in Cloister and Half Moon Cove.

Best Catfish Spots: Hermit, Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Catfish Bait: Nightcrawlers and Mackerel
Best Bass Spots: Points in 20' to 25' of water in the AM and the shorelines while the lake level is being dropped
Best Bass Lures/Bait: White Flukes for top water, crawdads on the banks and drop shot throughout the day
Best Pan Fish Spots: Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.

Notables: Dylan Wright and his two sons, Ethan and Lucas from El Cajon caught 5 Red Ears and 1 cat from Cloister Cove and Sentry Point using floating nightcrawlers. Good job fisherman!

Prognosis: Lots going on with the water level being dropped and if the water temp increases so should the top water bite. With water levels dropping crawdads are forced to move which should improve the bite closer to the banks. Again, with the water level being dropped there is lots of movement in Hermit Cove putting cats on the move. Reminder that Lake Jennings is open every day until August 4th, 2013 so come out and spend the day fishing, picnicking and boating. Weekday specials can be found online at www.lakejennings.org.

Water Temperature: 76 degrees on surface
