BREAKING NEWS: Reminder, Lake Jennings will stock the White Bass/Striped Bass most commonly known as a WIPER this Wednesday, July 31, 2013. The lake is open EVERY DAY for the month of July so come on out and witness this historic event at Lake Jennings. 1,200 pounds plus will placed into the lake in the range of 12-15" in size, keepers must be 15" or larger.

Top water bite for bass continues during the first and last hour of daylight. Cats and Red Ears can be found in the coves, most common in Cloister and Half Moon. This past week there were Bass, Cats and Red Ears caught from the fishing float using Nightcrawlers.

Best Catfish Spots: Hermit, Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel, Chicken Liver and Nightcrawlers
Best Bass Spots: Points in 15' to 25' of water
Best Bass Lures/Bait: White Flukes for top water, crawdads on the banks and drop shot throughout the day
Best Pan Fish Spots: Cloister and Half Moon Coves
Best Pan Fish Bait: Wax Worms and Meal Worms.

Notables: 8 ?? year old Jeremiah and his dad from El Cajon, 7 Catfish with a total weight of 17 ?? lbs., Mackerel, Eagle Point; 12 year old Dylan Darley from El Cajon, 2 Catfish with a total weight of 5 lbs., Mackerel, Half Moon; Zach Sawaya and Salim Sawaya (father and son) from El Cajon, BOTH with LIMITS of Catfish, total weight of 24 lbs., Mackerel, Half Moon; Eduardo Solis from El Cajon, 3 lbs. 1 oz. Large Mouth Bass, Shadow Cove, Pink Senko; Stephen Barcus from Mariposa, CA, 4 lb. Catfish, inflated Nightcrawlers on 4# ultra-lite line, Hermit Cove.

Prognosis: With the warmer water temps and the lake level being brought down slowly, all species will be on the move. A good turnout is expected for the introduction of Wipers this Wednesday, July 31st.

Water Temperature: 78 degrees on surface

Don't forget: the lake is now "OPEN EVERY DAY" until August 4th 2013. The entrance will open at 5:30 am to 8:30 pm and a late closing of midnight on Friday's and Saturday's.
