Hello from your Lake Jennings!:
The trout bite was the best it has been in quite awhile with limits being caught within an hour in the morning and again in the late afternoon. The best spots were in Shadow Cove and just out from the Fishing Float. Float a half of a nightcrawler with a 4' leader under a water bubble. Bass can be seen everywhere cruising the shoreline in about 15- 20' of water. Bassers are reporting Redears starting to move onto beds. No reports on cats.
Best Trout Spots: Shadow Cove and Fishing Float
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Nightcrawlers and Power Bait
Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove and the buoyline
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft along the shoreline.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Plastics, nightcrawlers and crawdads
Notables: Jason East, Minnesota, limit of 2-3 lb. Bass, shiners and nightcrawlers, Hermit Cove and Eagle Cove.
Prognosis: The bass should continue to bite just about anything by instinct as they start to move off of beds and the Redear will begin to take over the beds. The trout bite is expected to continue for a couple more months. We will begin to plant catfish next month, see schedule below. Night Fishing will start off on May 18th, the week before Memorial Day weekend. With the great weather the campground is filling quickly so make your reservations soon.
Water Temperature: 65 degrees on the surface.

4-15-2012Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Those that arrived before the rain on Friday had some luck with both trout and bass. As trout continue to move around your best bet this weekend was Shadow Cove, the south end of the bouyline. Trolling with Rapala's and using a small split shot to keep it down around 15' produced a few trout. No reports of trout being caught from shore. There are lots of bass still...... Read More
Several trout limit caught at Lake Jennings this week
Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings!: The trout have finally started to cooperate as we put in our last trout plant for the season making for a great Spring Break hookup. Several limits were caught throughout the week both trolling using Kastmasters and Powerworms and from shore using Power Bait. Several limits were caught in the first half of the day and some within a few hours after the lake opened, though not too many anglers were willing to give up their...... Read More
