Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The trout bite continued to be strong throughout the weekend both from shore and by boat. Both methods of free lining a nightcrawler and using Power Bait on a 4' leader worked well. Bass can be seen everywhere cruising the shoreline in about 15-20' of water. Redears are in 15-20', of water in the coves with reports of several 1-1 ? pounders being caught. No reports on cats.
Water Temp: 67 on surface.
Best Trout Spots: Siesta Cove and Eagle Point.
Best Trout Bait/Lures: Nightcrawlers and Power Bait.
Best Cat Spots: Bouyline and Cloister Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft along the shoreline.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Plastics, nightcrawlers and crawdads.
Notables: Dan Walters, San Diego, 1-11 Redear, nightcrawler, Cloister Cove.
Prognosis: The trout bite is expected to continue for a couple more months. The bass bite should continue as many move off beds while others are still spawning. Some bass being caught are still holding immature eggs which are a good indicator of a longer spawning season. Redear continue to rob nests and search for unoccupied nest to take over. We will begin to plant catfish next month, see schedule below. Night Fishing will start off on May 18th, the week before Memorial Day weekend. The campground was sold out again with the last few sites taken at the last minute so make your reservations now since this pattern should continue.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Those that arrived before the rain on Friday had some luck with both trout and bass. As trout continue to move around your best bet this weekend was Shadow Cove, the south end of the bouyline. Trolling with Rapala's and using a small split shot to keep it down around 15' produced a few trout. No reports of trout being caught from shore. There are lots of bass still...... Read More
