Hello from your Lake Jennings!:
The trout have finally started to cooperate as we put in our last trout plant for the season making for a great Spring Break hookup. Several limits were caught throughout the week both trolling using Kastmasters and Powerworms and from shore using Power Bait. Several limits were caught in the first half of the day and some within a few hours after the lake opened, though not too many anglers were willing to give up their hot spot. Even though we are done planting trout there is a very high number waiting to be caught and the bite will continue well into June. The bass bite continues as you work your way around the shore line. Those anglers fishing cats are doing fair out at the bouyline.

Best Trout Spots: Hermit Cove and Eagle Point
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Nightcrawler, Power Worms, and Power Bait
Best Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove and the buoyline
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft along the shore.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Jigs and Senkos

Notables: Sat., Victor Gonzales, 7-8 Large Mouth Bass, Senko, Sentry Point.

Prognosis: We will start the catfish stocking as we get closer to Memorial Day. The trout bite has improved and the bass spawn may be reaching its peak as we move into April.

Water Temperature: 62 degrees on surface.

Current Schedule NOTE NEW HOURS:
Lake opens on Friday @ 6:00 AM closes for fishing at 8:00 PM
Lake opens on Saturday @ 6:00 AM closes for fishing at 8:00 PM
Lake opens on Sunday @ 6:00 AM closes for fishing at 8:00 PM
