Hello from Your Lake Jennings:

Still not a lot of limits but lots of 2's and 3's. Trollers also started getting fish but bankies did better. Those fishing worms occasionally got a nice red ear as a bonus. Those that fished for cats got them. Bass took the weekend off.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point, Sentry Point and Hermit Cove.

Best Trout Bait/Lures: Chartreuse Power Bait dipped in Pautzke nectar.

Best Cat Spots: Sentry Point and the buoyline.

Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: The west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Creature baits and 4" morning dawn worms.

Water Temp: 64 degrees.

Prognosis: The lure bite should start happening anytime now for trout. Our guess is that the small shad are what is distracting the trout from their normal bill of fare. There are enough trout in the lake to put a dent in that population so the trout will have to look elsewhere for a meal.. Again don't forget the cats. We will stock every week for the next 18 weeks.

This weekend was the best trout bite so far since we started stocking. The trout are cruising the shoreline no more than 25 ft. off shore and 18" leaders. Hence the bankies did better than the boaters. Trolling continues to be only a boat ride. The bass bite is fair. Mostly dropshotting morning dawn worms or crawdad imitations in 30 ft. of water. Notice the cat catches. I really believe that this is the best time...... Read More

Hello from your Lake Jennings! We are open Thanksgiving Day. The trout hid while our anglers tried to seek. The trout won again. We would have used dynamite but we did not want to disturb our campers. Cats continue to be the best bet for a fish dinner but you need a boat and to be in 8' to 120' of water. The bass bite is fair. Mostly dropshotting morning dawn worms or crawdad imitations in 30 ft. of water. Best...... Read More
