This weekend was the best trout bite so far since we started stocking. The trout are cruising the shoreline no more than 25 ft. off shore and 18" leaders. Hence the bankies did better than the boaters. Trolling continues to be only a boat ride. The bass bite is fair. Mostly dropshotting morning dawn worms or crawdad imitations in 30 ft. of water. Notice the cat catches. I really believe that this is the best time of year to catch cats.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point, Sentry Point and Hermit Cove
Best trout Bait/Lures: Chartreuse Power Bait dipped in Pautzke nectar

Best Cat Spots: Sentry Point and the buoyline
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: the west side of Sentry and Eagle Point also the riprap that parallels the launch ramp.
Best Bass Lures /Bait: creature baits and 4" morning dawn worms.

Water Temp: 66 degrees.

Notables: Fri., Daniel Hacker, Alpine, 6-0 channel, mackerel, Half Moon Cove. Sat., Campers Scott and Luke Lawhorn and Ron Gray teamed up for 11 channels in the 2 to 4 lb. range and 1 trout. Sentry Point, chicken liver.

Prognosis: The trout bite is only going to get better. We will stock every week for the next 19 weeks. See schedule below. The cat bite is still a great way for an almost guarantteed fish dinner. Our bass are still worth targeting and should switch over to an ice jig bite very soon.

Hello from your Lake Jennings! We are open Thanksgiving Day. The trout hid while our anglers tried to seek. The trout won again. We would have used dynamite but we did not want to disturb our campers. Cats continue to be the best bet for a fish dinner but you need a boat and to be in 8' to 120' of water. The bass bite is fair. Mostly dropshotting morning dawn worms or crawdad imitations in 30 ft. of water. Best...... Read More

A few trout showed up at Eagle Point and Hermit Cove. Trollers are taking boat rides. The bass bite has been surprisingly good in 30 to 35ft. The key is to fish uphill and you get bit just as you hit the grass line. The runoff in Hermit Cove drew some cats out of deep water. Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point and Hermit Cove BestTroutLures/Bait: None Catfish Spots: Cloister Cove (Bird trees), and south side of the buoyline Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel and chicken......
