There is still steady onesies and twosies catfish action in the coves but there is some more evidence that they are moving to deeper water. A 10-1 cat was caught at the Hermit Cove buoyline.
The topwater action was hit and miss with only a few being caught. Small 3" Ikas worked for 1 angler. Again not a lot of panfish action this week.
Best Cat Spots:
Hermit Cove and Siesta Cove.
Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Spoons and small Ikas.
Water Temp:
80 degrees on surface
Prognosis:
We will stock another 1000 lbs of channel catfish this week just in time for next Friday. Start thinking about fishing a little deeper for those kitties.

That being said some bass are being caught on the surface by random casts out in the middle of the lake. Anglers fishing Siesta and Hermit Coves average between 1 and 2 cats per angler. Dockhands report a limit from Half Moon Cove but we could not confirm. There...... Read More
The Cats are going deeper, it's time to look for top water fishing for Bass at Lake Jennings
Lake JenningsWhile the cats have been hard to get, a few have done very well. What we are starting to see is some are now being caught in 40 to 50 ft. in the channels (see topo map on website). The backs of the coves are still producing but not like earlier in the season. Bass are still being caught at the bubbles. Spoons and a Gunfish produced fish this weekend. Also dropshotting 4" worms in...... Read More
