Bass are taking 5" senkos and worms in 15 to 40 ft. of water. The topwater action is not your usual casting to boiling fish except at the bubbles. That being said some bass are being caught on the surface by random casts out in the middle of the lake.

Anglers fishing Siesta and Hermit Coves average between 1 and 2 cats per angler. Dockhands report a limit from Half Moon Cove but we could not confirm. There has not been any panfish bite!

Best Cat Spots:
Hermit Cove and Siesta Cove.
Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Spoons, a Gunfish and Bass Assassins'
Water Temp:
80 degrees on surface
Prognosis:
It appears that catching is on an uptick for bass and cats. Maybe the panfish will follow.

The backs of the coves are still producing but not like earlier in the season. Bass are still being caught at the bubbles. Spoons and a Gunfish produced fish this weekend. Also dropshotting 4" worms in...... Read More

The bass were also less cooperative and the redears disappeared... Best Cat Spots: Bird Trees and the edges of any flooded trees particularly in the backs of the coves. Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally. Best Bass...... Read More
