While the cats have been hard to get, a few have done very well. What we are starting to see is some are now being caught in 40 to 50 ft. in the channels (see topo map on website). The backs of the coves are still producing but not like earlier in the season.

Bass are still being caught at the bubbles. Spoons and a Gunfish produced fish this weekend. Also dropshotting 4" worms in 15 to 40 ft. of water.

Best Cat Spots:
Bird Trees and the edges of any flooded trees particularly in the backs of the coves.

Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Spoons, a Gunfish and Bass Assassins'

Water Temp:
80 degrees on surface

Prognosis:
It is time to start fishing deeper for the cats and think about topwater bass. We are not seeing bass chasing shad but guys throwing prospecting casts midlake are getting fish.

Finally the fishing is improving all across the board. Cats were much more cooperative though it is still in the backs of the coves. Bass are starting to bite at the dam buoyline by casting topwater stuff or spoons into the bubbles. Some nice redears have been showing up on wax worms in Hermit Cove.
