This week's catfish plant did not significantly improve the per angler catch. It remains onesies and twosies. The topwater action was hit and miss with only a few being caught. Dropshotting is the most consistent but a good day is only 2 fish.
Best Cat Spots:
Hermit Cove, Cloister and Siesta Coves.
Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Dropshotting Arron's Magic or Morning Dawn 6" worms.
Water Temp:
80 degrees on surface
Prognosis:
We have only 3 more weekends of night fishing and as always happens the bite will be steady and then heat up again shortly after our first stock of trout. Those cats are generally caught by trout anglers. While we are seeing lots of shad on the fishfinder there is not any schools being driven to the surface. Making the bass difficult to target.

The topwater action was hit and miss with only a few being caught. Small 3" Ikas worked for 1 angler. Again not a lot of panfish action this week. Best Cat Spots: Hermit Cove and Siesta Cove. Bass and Catfish were the Best at Lake Jennings
Lake JenningsBass are taking 5" senkos and worms in 15 to 40 ft. of water. The topwater action is not your usual casting to boiling fish except at the bubbles. That being said some bass are being caught on the surface by random casts out in the middle of the lake. Anglers fishing Siesta and Hermit Coves average between 1 and 2 cats per angler. Dockhands report a limit from Half Moon Cove but we could not confirm. There...... Read More
