Bluegill Bite Continues To Be Productive

Bass fishing has been good in the early morning and GREAT in the afternoons, around at the last 3 hours before sunset. Anglers seem to be doing the best by working a baitfish imitation lure just over the tops of the growing grass in the water. Lures such as, Crankbaits, square bills, underpins, weedless swimbaits, swim jigs and flukes seem to be the most productive recently. During the afternoon the fishing definitely slows down a little. But by working finesse tactics like, Carolina rigs, smaller finesse jigs, drop shot and jigs really slow across the point and deeper holes, one could definitely catch a few fish.

The bluegill bite continues to be productive along with the crappie and catfish. For the bluegill and crappie I would recommend a slip bobber with crappie shiners or teasers. Catfish have been caught primarily on cut mackerel.

People have been doing well on crank baits variations like lipless crank baits, square bill crank baits and deep diving crank baits. A good number of bass have...... Read More

Fishing continues to get better and better daily here at the lake! We are seeing large numbers of both Bass and Bluegill as well as Catfish being caught daily. As far as the Bass they seem to be primarily feeding on the Shad, Crawdads, Bluegill and baitfish. Bluegill can even be seen feeding on the surface in the afternoon going after different insects that have fallen into the water. For bass, I’d recommend showing something that will allow you to cover...... Read More
