Bluegill Continue to Bite Daily

by Murray Reservoir Staff

Fishing was slower at the beginning of the week, but it seems to be steadily picking up on a daily basis. Bass have been hanging out shallow ambushing prey from the grass that has been flowing closer to the surface. They are focusing on baitfish about 2” long and crawfish as well. People have been doing well on crank baits variations like lipless crank baits, square bill crank baits and deep diving crank baits. A good number of bass have been caught on weedless and regular underspins with Keitech trailers as well. The finesse fishing however seems to have really died off.

The Bluegill continue to bite on a daily basis with people catching anywhere from 8-9 daily. With some larger fish being caught in the afternoon.

The Catfish bite has been getting better and better each day! Catfish have been regularly caught in the backs of coves on cut mackerel or stink baits.

For bass, I’d recommend showing something that will allow you to cover...... Read More
