In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contact the water.

Bass conditions remain productive. Seven-year-old Hayden Heck of Valley Center landed a 3#10 Bass that struck a Senko Worm off Senior Shoreline. Swim bait lures, plastic worms, and live golden shiners are working best for the Bass now. Channel Catfish have been hitting cut mackerel, chicken liver, night crawlers, and shrimp in the channel at the east end of Wohlford. Jose Garlejo of Escondido caught the largest Catfish taken this past week. Jose's 18#6 Blue Catfish attacked a Plastic Worm in Oakvale Cove.

The Crappie have moved into deeper water, but a few of the scrappy pan fish are still coming in. Robert Slaughter of Lake Elsinore caught a 2#7 Crappie on a live Golden Shiner in Boat Dock Cove. Small golden shiners and finger jigs have been the preferred baits. Small-sized Bluegill are hitting red worms in Oakvale Cove. Carp action has picked up and dough balls are the preferred bait.
