Hello from your Lake Jennings! The bright spot this weekend besides getting much needed moisture was a site specific trout bite in the Hermit Cove, Cactus Patch, East side of Eagle point triangle. Bass were very tough and so was the cat bite on the buoy line.
Best Trout Spots: Hermit Cove buoy line and the Cactus Patch.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers, Chartreuse Power Bait and Gulp.
Best Catfish Spots: The buoy lines and the middle of Eagle Cove.
Best Catfish Lures/Bait: Bring shrimp and night crawlers. Fish deep.
Best Bass Spots: 40 ft. of water off the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Ikas, crawdads and 4" Senkos.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 30 minutes reported.
Water Temperature: 62 degrees.
Prognosis: The lake continues to rise at a rate of 6" per day so the moving water will affect how the fish react. Bass are right on the bank for 1 hour early and late. Crawdad imitations are working. We are skipping a week, and then Mt. Lassen has 2,000 lbs. of trout headed this way for holiday vacations. Another 1,200 lbs. will be stocked the week of Christmas.
Current Schedule: We'll be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:45 a.m. ??? 5:15 p.m.
Holiday Schedule: We'll be open every day from Dec. 21st thru Jan. 1st!
NEW! Discounted Boat Rental: We have created a twilight special for our motorboats. After 3:00PM motorboats can be rented for $20.00. That gives you over 2 1/4 hours of primetime fishing.
FREE fishing classes: Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will cover trout. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.

Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! This weekend our catching went into the proverbial porcelain fixture. A few cats were caught in the little bit of muddy runoff water. The limited number of trout caught came to trolled night crawlers and Hermit Cove buoy line baiters in the afternoon. The bass had their mouths shut with super glue. Best Trout Spots: Hermit Cove buoy line and the Cactus Patch. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Inflated crawlers, Chartreuse Power Bait and Gulp. Best Catfish Spots: The buoy...... Read More

Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! We are open Thanksgiving Day. The bite is so good even blind raccoons are catching fish. The hottest bite is the cats. Fish the buoy line with mackerel or night crawlers and it is almost guaranteed. The trout bite is centered in 3 areas. The best shore spot is the Cactus Patch. Hermit or Shadow Coves from a boat are producing the most trout limits. Bass are being taken right off the bank with Ikas...... Read More
