Lake Wohlford is only open on weekends until we return to a 7-day a week schedule starting December 15. In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, etc.

Jack Soup of San Diego set a NEW LAKE RECORD CATFISH Sunday at Lake Wohlford when he landed a 38#0 Blue Catfish that struck cut Mackerel east of the South Shore Rockpile (see photo). It took Jack over ?? hour to land the whopper using Maxima 10# test line. The previous record held for over 40 years by Al Linares of Valley Center back on August 30, 1967, when Al landed a 27#0 Catfish that hit Cheese. Vicente Garcia of Vista caught a 7#5 Channel Catfish that nailed Shrimp off Senior Shoreline.

The Bass are in the shallow waters and are still biting. Senko worms, Swim bait lures, and plastic worms have been working best.
