Lake Wohlford is only open on weekends until we return to a 7-day a week schedule starting December 15. In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a temporary ban on private water craft and private equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment now includes boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, etc.

Catfish action has been very good with some nice-sized whisker fish coming in. The best baits have been cut mackerel and chicken liver. Blas Romero of Escondido caught and released an 11#2 Albino Channel Catfish that struck Chicken Liver at the West Buoy Line. Jim Smith of Vista caught a 10#8 Catfish that hit cut Mackerel at the West Buoy Line.

The Bass are out in deep water now and Bass action has been slow. Senko worms, Swim bait lures, and plastic worms have been working best.
