Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The catfish bite continues to be hit and miss with boaters having a slight edge over bankies. The buoy line at Shadow Cove and Hermit Cove are the best from a boat. The east side of Half Moon Cove was the best shore spot. The topwater bite takes some work but is producing fish along the bank and in Shadow Cove. The flat on the west side of Sentry is the dropshot and Ika spot.
Best cat spots: The buoy lines and the East site of Half Moon
Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.
Best Bass Spots: Dusk on the bank, daytime bass are stacked up in 25 ft. of water on Sentry Point.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Frogs, chug bugs, Bass Assassins, Shiners.
Water Temp: 79 degrees
Notables: Fri., Howard Martinez, El Cajon, 5-8 catfish, chicken livers, Hermit Cove.
Prognosis: We don't see much change from last week. The high lake level has contributed to an unprecedented weed growth that has bass up close and personal to the bank. Highly unusual for this lake! When the light is low these bass have been accommodating. The shad busting bite is only around the bubbles and it takes a longer cast than most anglers can muster so beat the bank. When the cats get their appetite back you'll be the first to know. Next catfish stock is August 15th.
Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.

Lake Jennings Fish Report 07-30-07
Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! A decent top water / Bass Assassin bite against the bank continues early and late. In the middle of the day "fugetaboutit." The catfish plant did nothing to spark a bite. They are now showing up deeper. Boaters are doing better than bankies by fishing the lake channels and drop offs. The coves and the flooded brush are much less productive than they were 2 weeks ago. A few anglers cruising the banks in boats...... Read More
Lake Jennings Fish Report 07-22-07
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: This weeks cat plant did not do much to ignite the bite. What was interesting is the cats bit well in one spot on Friday but at Saturday's prime spot you couldn't buy a bite on Friday. Go figure! A decent Bass Assassin bite is over by 9 AM and doesn't start up again until 7 PM. One angler scratched 3 bass in the middle of the day trolling leadcore at 22 ft. Best cat...... Read More
