Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Night fishing was absolutely great this weekend, but catching resulted in a lot of skunks. The bass that bit wanted Ika's on the bank and a few fish came on shiners in the 25ft. range. An intermittent surface didn't warrant anything more that an extra rod at the ready if they did show up, The cats bite was slow. The usual spots were the best but it was not what you would call good. The redears were scattered so it was a fish here and a fish there.

Best cat spots: Cloister and Siesta Coves and the cormorant trees.

Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.

Best Bass Spots: Dusk on the bank, daytime bass are stacked up in 25 ft. of water on the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: Black with red flake Ikas and 12" Texas rigged black worms. Shiners.

Water Temp: 76 degrees

Notables: Sat., Wayne Story, Escondido, 10-9 channel cat, mackerel, Siesta Cove.

Prognosis: We will stock 1000 lbs. of Fish Producers channel cats on Wednesday this week.

Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.
