Hello from Your Lake Jennings:
We are heading into the Summer doldrums. The best times are the first and last hours of daylight for all species. The only surface activity for the bass is at the buoyline throwing into the bubbles. The rest of the bass are at the edge of the weed line. Boaters have the best chance at cats because they are moving deep.
Best Cat Spots: Both the middle of the Hermit Cove buoyline and anywhere along the dam buoyline.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Dam buoyline casting towards the bubbles. Also fish the weedline.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Morning Dawn worms and creature baits.
Water Temp: 80 degrees
Prognosis: The lake is open every day for the next week. If we get enough anglers it should allow us to further refine the what and where to pass on to you.

Bass are boiling, Cats are moving closer to shore & Redear are on the bite at Lake Jennings
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: We had some nice redears in the 1 lb. range fished around the boat dock rockpile. ? crawler and a light splitshot. Bass are boiling out at the bubbles. Shallow running crankbaits are best. The cats are definitely starting to move away from the shore as dropping water level leaves the cover high and dry. We expect a crawdad bite anytime now. The dropping waterline always gets the bugs moving. Best...... Read More
Lake Jennings fishing is just fair for Bass & Cats
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: It was just fair in the catching department for bass and cats. The cats seem to be starting to move out into deeper water. We saw cats caught in the brush and also at the Hermit Cove buoy line. A few bass were caught on big frogs right at sunset but overall the surface bite isn't. Dropshotting in 30 ft of water is still your best bet. Best Cat Spots: The...... Read More
