Hello from Your Lake Jennings:
Trout fishing slowed down a bit this weekend though lots of the Sierra Bow trout can be seen cruising the shoreline. Not much more has changed this week. Bass are still in 15-20' of water all along the shoreline with guardian males protecting fry balls. Redears are in 15-20' of water in the coves with reports of several 1-1  ? pounders being caught.

Cruise the bank early when the lake is glass for both bass and redears. No reports on cats though they should be moving into more shallow water as the temps warm up.

Best Trout Spots: Siesta Cove and Eagle Point.
Best Trout Bait/Lures: Nightcrawlers and Power Bait.
Best Cat Spots: Bouyline and Cloister Cove.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Every 15 ft along the shoreline.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Plastics, nightcrawlers and crawdads.
Water Temp: 68 on surface.

Notables:
Sunday, Mike Foxhoven, Spring Valley, 4-8 Channel Catfish, Oysters, Hermit Cove.

Prognosis: The trout inventory is still strong and we anticipate good trout fishing thru end of May. The bass bite should continue as many move off beds while others are still spawning. Redear continue to rob nests and search for spawning grounds. We will begin to plant catfish next month, see schedule below. Night Fishing will start off on May 18th, the week before Memorial Day weekend. The campground was sold out again so make your reservations soon online.
