Last Plant: 1,000 lbs of Channel Catfish Thursday August 11th.
Next Plant: 4,500 lbs of Rainbow Trout Saturday December 10th.
Water Temperature: At surface 68.18 f., 5.48 D.O. @ 10' 68.36 f., 5.35 D.O.
Water Level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.
Lake Wohlford will remain closed on weekdays until opening day of trout season which is scheduled for December 10th.
In order to protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is still a temporary ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors and other equipment that contacts the water.
Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motorboats to seniors on Tuesdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Bass can be found near rock piles especially in the morning and late afternoons. Dark colored plastics do particularly well.
Catfish are still being caught especially on the south side of the lake. Chris Erickson of Meniphee landed a 6..00# channel catfish on cut mackerel at the West Bouy Line. For a doughbait recipe that works for both catfish and carp stop by the ranger station.
A small number of crappie are being caught primarily in the early mornings. Jerry Harris weighed in his largest fish a 1.00# crappie on Saturday. It was caught on a live golden shiner in Boat Dock Cove. Crappie prefer the cover of submerged trees or shady places in which to hide.
