The bass bite is just OK if you can locate the schools on the points using spoons or ice jigs. The bird trees kicked out a couple of cat limits for some and for others it was a skunk. No one, it seems, was fishing the deep water at the buoyline.
Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove ( Bird trees), and Buoyline .
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: Sentry and Eagle Point.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Dropshotting Arron's Magic or Morning Dawn 7" worms.
Water Temp: 79 degrees on surface
Notables: Fri., Lonnie Carpenter. Imperial Beach, 6-0 largemouth, Gunfish, Eagle Point.
Prognosis: Fall is one of the best times of the year for both bass and cats and yet until we stock trout you can have almost all the lake to yourself.
