Friday night's catfishing was very good. Saturday's was very poor. Go Figure! Bass fishing improved a tiny bit. Fishing on the points in 30 to 40 ft. with a dropshot 7" worm worked the best. If you fished for panfish you went home emptyhanded.
Best Cat Spots:
Half Moon Cove, Cloister and Siesta Coves.
Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and Chicken livers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Dropshotting Arron's Magic or Morning Dawn 7" worms.
Water Temp:
79 degrees on surface
Prognosis:
We have only 2 more weekends of night fishing and as always happens the bite will be steady and then heat up again shortly after our first stock of trout. Those cats are generally caught by trout anglers. While we are seeing lots of shad on the fishfinder there is not any schools being driven to the surface. Making the bass difficult to target.
