Our inaugural weekend of night fishing was just OK. A few limits of channels were caught but nothing really big. As predicted the backs of the coves provided most of the action.

Bass bit better in the mornings. A few trout are being caught in 30 ft. of water out at the buoyline. Redears are showing up with regularity as a bycatch. It is 1 or 2 per angler usually fishing crawlers for cats. We will be open Memorial Day .

Best Trout Spots:
Shadow Cove and fishing float.

Best Trout Lures/Bait:
Rainbow Power Bait on at 2ft. leader at Shadow Cove

Best Cat Spots:
Bird Trees and the edges of any flooded trees particularly in the backs of the coves.

Best Cat Bait:
Mackerel and nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots:
Hermit Cove and they are moving back to the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
Texas rigged creature baits, crawdads, Rattletraps and Bass Assassins'.

Water Temp:
68 degrees on surface

Prognosis:
The channel catfish as they move into the shallows looking for spawning spots are best found in the backs of the coves. Another 1000 lbs will be here Thursday just before the weekend.
