Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Our night fishing started with a bang on Friday and then fizzled. The catfish bit well in Hermit, Siesta and Cloister Coves but developed lockjaw on Saturday. Bass were more difficult. The much awaited topwater bite still has us waiting. Most of the bass are in 30 to 40 ft. of water with their lips sewn shut. We had a nice crappie catch at the fishing float on shiners.
Best trout spots: Shadow Cove but it was marginal at best.
Best trout bait: Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.
Best trout lures: None
Best cat spots: Hermit and Siesta Coves and the cormorant trees.
Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.
Best Bass Spots: Bass are stacked up in 40 ft. of water on the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Ika's and dropshotting 4" worms.
Water Temp: 71 degrees
Notables: Sat. Terry Mapp, Spring Valley, 12 crappie @ 15-12, fishing float, crappie shiners.
Prognosis: We will skip a week planting cats but as we all know this lake has plenty of larger fish. The key is to find them. The waning moon and the forecasted warmer days should improve the daytime bite.
Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.

This weekend the fish were practicing for our night fishing by not biting until late afternoon evening. Those anglers that hung around were rewarded. This was true for the bass and the cats. Trout anglers basically struck out. Trout were mainly caught by anglers...... Read More
Lake Jennings fish report 05-20-07
Lake JenningsHello from Your Lake Jennings: We will be open on Memorial Day. Overall there was good action on the bass and cats. Bass bit shiners and the usual drop shot worms. Cats bit well in Hermit Cove. The trout did not bite well except for a few boaters fishing in 30 to 50 ft of water on crawlers. No large fish came in. It was all frying pan size fish. Best trout spots: Shadow Cove and fishing float. Best trout...... Read More
