Hello from Your Lake Jennings: We are open tomorrow on Memorial Day. Night fishing starts next Friday. Be sure you check out our new hours. We don't open until 5 PM on Fridays. This weekend the fish were practicing for our night fishing by not biting until late afternoon evening. Those anglers that hung around were rewarded. This was true for the bass and the cats. Trout anglers basically struck out. Trout were mainly caught by anglers fishing for something else.

Best trout spots: Shadow Cove but it was marginal at best.

Best trout bait: Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.

Best trout lures:None

Best cat spots: Hermit Cove and the cormorant trees.

Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and night crawlers. Fish shallow near vegetation.

Best Bass Spots: Bass are stacked up in 40 ft. of water on the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: dropshotting 4" worms.

Water Temp: 71 degrees

Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: Fish Producers will bring in 1000 lbs of channel cats on Wed. in preparation for our kickoff of night fishing.

Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.
