Hello from your Lake Jennings. The trout bite finally is taking off. Cactus Patch both from shore and a boat provided limits. The quickest limits came to boaters flylining whole crawlers. Trollers are still just taking boat rides. Live baiters are catching bass in the deeper water of the points. Guys throwing plastics are working hard for 1 or 2 bass

Best Trout Spots: Cactus Patch.

Best Trout Lures/Bait: Flylined crawlers and salmon peach Power Bait.

Best Cat Spots: Cloister Cove, the buoyline off Eggert Point.

Best Cat Bait: Mackerel and nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Fish the weeds on all the points.

Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads.

Water Temp: 64 degrees on surface.

Notables: No limits under 1 hour or fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Prognosis: We will again stock 1000 lbs of Sierra 'Bows on Tuesday. The moon may affect the bite. Bring crawdads if you want bass. The cats will continue to bite if you fish deep water.

The Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will be teaching trout fishing this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Lake Jennings Campground now has Wi-Fi at every campsite and is open on Thanksgiving Day. For more info, you can call Hugh Marx at (619) 443-2510 or visit http://www.lakejennings.org

Hello from your Lake Jennings. Little by little the trout bite is improving but can only be classified as fair. A couple of bigger blue catfish came on consecutive days. The cats came from 100ft. deep at the buoyline. Other anglers found some nice redears in the same spot and depth. Bass are in their deeper on the points mode. Dropshotting 4 " morning dawn worms or crawdads are your best bet. ...... Read More
