Hello from your Lake Jennings. We had some bad news this week from our catfish
supplier. They had failed to deliver the last 2 weeks with various excuses and then said that
they had a fish kill and could not deliver the catfish they had promised. So, we are out of
luck and catfish. Predictably, the cat bite has slowed down again from last week. The
catches are now coming from deeper water. There is a slightly improved bass bite using 10"
worms in the 20' to 25' range. The lake has dropped about 8 ft. and that has forced the craw
dads and the small baitfish to move downhill. The increased forage may help pull those
suspended bass out in the middle closer to shore.
Best Catfish Spots: Eagle, Cloister, and Hermit Coves.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers, shrimp, hot dogs or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: 10" worms or creature baits in the natural colors.
Notables: No quick limits or fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: The cats are deeper. Boaters and those bankies who can cast a country mile will have the best success.
Water Temperature: 78 degrees on surface.
Current Schedule: Fri. @ 5:00 PM closes for fishing at 12:00AM, Sat. @ 5:30 AM closes for fishing at 12:00 AM
Sun. @ 5:30 AM closes for fishing at 8:30 PM, Night fishing every Friday and Saturday until Labor Day.

Lake JenningsThe great catfish bite has cooled some but was still " good." Cloister and Eagle Coves have been better than Hermit. Our bass are still schooling their anglers. This angler spent a few hours trying early on Thursday to make the topwater bite happen. 1 bass the same size as the # 18 Rapala. Still no bass chasing shad on the surface. The shad schools are metered at 15' to 25' off the points and are huge...... Read More
