The great catfish bite has cooled some but was still " good." Cloister and Eagle Coves have been better than Hermit. Our bass are still schooling their anglers. This angler spent a few hours trying early on Thursday to make the topwater bite happen. 1 bass the same size as the # 18 Rapala. Still no bass chasing shad on the surface. The shad schools are metered at 15' to 25' off the points and are huge but spoons and ice jigs underneath them are not producing.
Best Cat Spots: Eagle, Cloister and Hermit Coves.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers, shrimp, hot dogs or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures / bait: # 13 Rapalas, Zara Spooks and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.
Water Temp.: 78 degrees on surface.
Notables: Fri. and Sat., John Visser, Jake Alirez, Melody Noble, Lemon Grove, 15 cats, largest 4-0, chicken livers and Secret 7, Eagle Cove. Sat., Juan Herrera, Alpine, 5-4 cat, Cloister Cove.
Prognosis: A warmer week should heat the lake and make the fish feel better about themselves. I am not holding my breath for the topwater bass bite but the cat bite should return to it's former glory.

Lake Jennings Fishing Report
Lake JenningsCatfishing exploded this weekend with Hermit and Cloister coves producing lots of limits. No one bait produced more than any other. A few bass are coming to bank anglers. Boaters are doing a little better by dropshotting 4" worms in 15 to 25' of water. Ikas are also performing but each bass is earned. Best Cat Spots: Eagle, Cloister and Hermit Coves.
