Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Catfishing is the best bet for frying pan sizzle. Fish the brush and the backs of the Coves with chicken livers. Finally some topwater action for the bass very early and just about dark in the backs of the coves. First angler in gets the bites. 1 or 2 per cove. A frog on the mats and over the downed trees.

Best Cat Spots: Siesta, Half Moon & Hermit Coves.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: mudsuckers and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.
Water Temp. 67 degrees on surface.
Notables: No Fish reported over 3 pounds or limits under an hour
Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.

Overall, the catch is about one per person no matter what you are fishing for. Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Drifted crawlers. Best...... Read More

The bass were very tough. Trout were caught mostly by accident on mackerel. Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake and the concrete steps. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Drifted crawlers. Best Catfish Spots: The bird trees. Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points. Best...... Read More
