Our first weekend of night fishing was just fair as changing weather put the chill on both the fish and angler enthusiasm. The backs of
the coves produced about one catfish per angler. The bass were very tough. Trout were caught mostly by accident on mackerel.
Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake and the concrete steps.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Drifted crawlers.
Best Catfish Spots: The bird trees.
Best Catfish Bait: Mackerel or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Mudsuckers and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.
Notables: No fish over 3 lbs. or limits under 1 hour.
Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.
Water Temperature: 67 degrees on the surface.
Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday from 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. - 12:00 a.m., and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

We will open our gates at 5 PM. Full size lanterns are required after 8 PM. Jackie Hale has found the magic for the bass. Every Saturday for the last 6 weeks she has been throwing mudsuckers and catching lots of bass. Previously she had an 11+. Trout have actually been...... Read More
Lake Jennings Fish Report
Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! If this report is familiar it is because it is almost exactly the same as last week...it is scratchy at best for all species. Cats are being found shallow but are also being found at the buoyline. The majority of trout are suspended but some are being caught in the backs of the coves. The best strategy is drifting a crawler in the middle of the lake down about 35 ft. Bass, mostly males, are along the bank. The bigger...... Read More
