Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Catfishing improved slightly for those fishing in the backs of cove and fishing shallow. Most all of the limits came on chicken livers. Bass continue to be difficult. All the bass are coming from 20 to 25ft. Black Power Worms and Margarita Mutilator Robo's. Trout are being caught incidentally from shore. Boaters having better luck drifting crawlers or Power Bait 30 to 50 ft. down.
Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake.
Best Trout Lures / Bait: drifted crawlers.
Best Cat Spots: Siesta, Half Moon & Hermit Coves.
Best Cat Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: mudsuckers and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.
Water Temp. 67 degrees on surface.
Notables: Some limits but not quick nor fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.
