Our first weekend of night fishing was just fair as changing weather put the chill on both the fish and angler enthusiasm. The backs of the coves produced about 1 catfish per angler. The bass were very tuff. Trout were caught mostly by accident on mackerel.

Best Trout Spots: Middle of the lake and the concrete steps.
Best Trout Lures / Bait: Drifted crawlers.
Best Cat Spots: The bird trees.
Best Cat Bait: Mackerel or nightcrawlers. Use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: 25 ft on all the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: mudsuckers and d/s 4" morning dawn worms.
Water Temp. 67 degrees on surface.
Notables: No quick limits or fish over 3 lbs. reported.
Prognosis: The early season night fishing pattern for channel cats is always fish shallow in the brush and the backs of the coves.

Hello from Your Lake Jennings: If this report is familiar it is because it is almost exactly the same as last week... It is scratchy at best for all species. Cats are being found shallow but are also being found at the buoyline.. The majority of trout are suspended but some are being caught in the backs of the coves.
