Hello from your Lake Jennings! Our bass are in full on spawning mode and our anglers are capitalizing on it. There was a big upsurge in trout being caught from Hermit Cove to Eagle Point. An interesting trout bite developed off the launch ramp. Fish were biting Shad Raps, Rapalas and even flies. Cats are in transition so are being found both deep and in the brush.

Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point, Cactus Patch and the concrete steps.
Best Trout Lures/Bait: Shad Raps, Salmon Peach Power Bait.
Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and the brush.
Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers... use scent liberally.
Best Bass Spots: The launch ramp.
Best Bass Lures/Bait: Crawdads, Ikas and jigs.

Notables: Friday, Jackie Hale, Lakeside, 11-2 largemouth, crawdad, Eagle Cove.
Prognosis: We are probably on the backside of the peak spawning period for the bass so don't put it off or you'll miss it. Our last (Sierra Bow) trout plant of the year will be this Thursday. The inventory and the good fishing typically lasts into mid-May.
Water Temperature: 64 degrees on the surface.
Current Schedule: Lake Jennings will be open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Coming Soon: Night fishing starts May 21, 2010!

FREE Fishing Classes Open to the Public!
Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week's class will talk about trout fishing. Hello from your Lake Jennings! The trout fishing, this weekend, was as bad as it was good last weekend. The bass fishing was also spotty. Almost no visible fish on the beds but lots of cruisers. Cats are being caught all over the place, deep and shallow. It seems that chicken livers were the main course. Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point. Best Trout Lures/Bait: Nightcrawler/marshmallow combo. Best Catfish Spots: The dam buoyline and the brush. Best Catfish Bait: Chicken livers or nightcrawlers... use scent liberally. Best Bass Spots:...... Read More

Hello from your Lake Jennings! The bass fishing was excellent this weekend. The ultra clear (25') water has the fish either bedding deep or tight to cover with most bass deep. The trout fishing picked up for the shore anglers and not so hot for the boaters. Eagle Point, Cactus Patch and the concrete steps put trout limits on the stringers. Cats were hit and miss. They are on the move. Sometimes deep works, and sometimes in the brush works. Best Trout Spots: Eagle Point, Cactus...... Read More
