Hello from Your Lake Jennings: Fishing went into the proverbial porcelain fixture this weekend. Every species had lockjaw. We figure the fish are resting up for our Kids Day next weekend. Speaking of Kids Day: next Saturday the first 630 kids will receive a prize. Hamilton Meats will provide and cook hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, polish sausages all for free. We will be stocking 1000 lbs. of channel catfish back in Hermit Cove. Fun will be had by all!!!!
Best trout spots: Shadow Cove and fishing float
Best trout bait: Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.
Best trout lures: Orange # 5 Rapala's
Best cat spots: Hermit Cove and the cormorant trees.
Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and fish shallow.
Best Bass Spots: Close to shore on the points.
Best Bass Lures /bait: Shiners, 4" and 6" cinnamon blue vein dropshotted worms. Bass Assassins' and # 9 Rapalas.
Water Temp. 71 degrees
Notables: Fri. , John Galleger, Santee, 8-12 largemouth, mystery plastic worm, Hermit Cove. Sat., Jacob Palweski, Poway, 8-7 largemouth, Shadow Cove, ChatterBait.
Prognosis: Shiners for bass and mackerel for the cats. Trout action will be spotty.
Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish. 1PM Sunday.

Night Fishing starts June 1, 2007
Helix Water District's Kids Fish Free Day is May 12th . Capt. Ron Baker is Master of Ceremonies'. 3 bicycles and some top of the line rods and reels will be awarded for the best kids fishing stories. Hamilton Meats is doing their world famous BBQ'd hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken. The first 600 kids registered will receive tackle and prizes. Lake opens at 5:30. Lunch and fish stories start at 11:00.

Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! Trout fishing continues to be strong but the fish have moved to deeper water off of Cactus Patch and the fishing float. Boaters are having better success than bankies. There are several strategies for bass. Lake JenningsHello from your Lake Jennings! This weekend's action was almost all trout. Besides the usual spots, trolling took an up tick between boat dock and the fishing float. Bass bit for a few that concentrated on drop-shotting 4" to 6" cinnamon blue vein worms in 20 ft. of water. Cats were a little more difficult than last weekend.
