Stocking: The lake was stocked with another 1,000 pounds of catfish this week. The next stocking of 1,000 pounds is the week of August 17th. The total stock so far is 4,500 pounds. A total of 8,500 pounds will be stocked this season.

What’s the catch? The bass bite continues to be productive during the early morning and evening hours. Anglers are finding success targeting rocky points, submerged structure, and weed edges using shiners, Texas-rigged plastics, jigs, and swimbaits. With warm summer water temperatures, focus on deeper water during the heat of the day for your best chance at landing a quality bass.

Catfish are keeping anglers busy after dark. Chicken liver, mackerel, shrimp, and dip baits have all been producing solid catches. Fish are being caught along deeper shorelines and near the buoy line, with the evening bite offering the best opportunity for limits. Night fishing remains one of the best ways to target catfish during the summer months.
