Stocking: The lake was stocked with another 1,000 pounds of catfish last week! The next stocking of 1,000 pounds is the week of July 27th. We will continue to stock catfish at regular intervals through October.

What’s the catch? The catfish bite remains steady after 1,000 pounds of channel catfish were stocked last week! Freshly stocked fish are being caught from both shore and boats, with the best action coming during the late afternoon and night fishing hours. Target deeper water near points, drop-offs, and coves, especially as the sun goes down. Best baits to use are mackerel, garlic shrimp, and dip baits. Regular plants throughout the season will keep the bite strong.

Bass anglers continue to find success around structure using drop shots, Texas-rigged worms, and Senkos, while bluegill and redear are providing steady action during the day on mealworms and waxworms.

Don’t forget to share your catch! Tag us on social media with #LakeJennings for a chance to be featured in our next report.

Conditions: The aerator has been turned on. Temps throughout the water column are more stable. The surface temperature around the boat dock is holding steady at 80.7 degrees. The sun is rising at 5:52 a.m. and setting at 7:56 p.m.
