Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout last week. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout is the week of April 13th. We will continue to stock trout until the end of April for a total of 19,000 pounds this season.

What’s the Catch? Bass action continues with the warmer weather. Anglers are finding success early in the morning and later in the evening when fish are most active. Look for bass cruising shallow areas, especially near structure like rocks, brush, and shoreline vegetation; think Half Moon Cove, Cloister Cove, and east of the t-dock. Soft plastics, swimbaits, and jigs have been producing solid bites.

Trout are still being caught throughout the lake, with the best action coming from deeper water as temperatures climb. PowerBait, inflated nightcrawlers, and small spoons are all working well. Anglers fishing from boats are having luck targeting cooler depths, while shoreline anglers are finding success during the cooler parts of the day.

Don’t forget to share your catch! Tag us on social media with #LakeJennings for a chance to be featured in our next report.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 70 degrees at the surface. The sun is rising at 6:26 a.m. and setting at 7:14 p.m.  The next new moon is April 17th. Take advantage of the darkness on Saturday, April 18th when the lake will be open until 10:00 p.m.
