Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout last week. The next stocking of 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout is this week. Back to back stockings! We will continue to stock trout until the end of April for a total of 19,000 pounds this season.

What’s the Catch? The lake has received two consecutive stockings of rainbow trout, each totaling 1,500 pounds, bringing in a fresh wave of healthy, active fish. These recently stocked trout are being caught throughout the lake, with the most success coming from shoreline anglers using PowerBait, inflated nightcrawlers, and small spoons. Early mornings and late afternoons have been especially productive as the fish settle in and begin cruising.

Water temperatures are warming, so trout are starting to move between the surface and mid-depths. Targeting slightly deeper water as the day progresses can improve your chances. Boaters are finding success trolling with flashy lures and working drop-offs.

Bass action stayed strong all weekend, with consistent catches reported out of Cloister and Siesta Cove. Anglers found the most success fishing shiners, with plenty of solid hookups coming from those working the coves patiently.

Don’t forget to share your catch! Tag us on social media with #LakeJennings for a chance to be featured in our next report.

Conditions: The current water temperature is 70 degrees at the surface. The sun is rising at 6:36 a.m. and setting at 7:08 p.m.  The next new moon is April 17th.
