Stocking: The lake was stocked with 1,500 pounds of Rainbow Trout the week of March 2nd.   Due to a delay with our distributor, our next planned stocking is the week of March 23rd. Total trout stocked so far this season is 13,000 pounds from Idaho plus the addition of DFW stockings throughout the season.

What’s the Catch? The lake continues to deliver solid action across multiple species as conditions warm up and fish become more active. Rainbow Trout fishing remains productive, especially in the early morning hours. Anglers are finding success near the shoreline and deeper pockets using PowerBait, inflated nightcrawlers, and small spoons. The dockhands have seen some trolling trout come in from boats the past couple of weekends too. 

Bass are starting to turn on with the warmer weather. Look for them cruising shallower areas, especially near structure and along the edges of coves. Soft plastics, jigs, and swimbaits are all producing bites. Coves with deeper canyons - Half Moon, Cloister, and off the end of the t-dock are good places to set up if you’re targeting bass.

Bluegill action is steady and great for anglers of all ages especially during the heat of the day when the trout move deeper. They’re hanging out near docks, rocks, and shallow brush. Small hooks tipped with pieces of nightcrawlers or mealworms are your best bet for consistent bites.
