Hello from Your Lake Jennings: The trout bite remains site specific and in those spots is very good. There is a glimmer of a trolling bite but it takes a day of trolling to scratch a limit. The bass spawn is just about over. There is a Bass Assassin / crankbait bite on the guardian males all along the shore. Lots of small cats being taken all over the lake wherever there is brush or rocks.

Best trout spots: Eagle Point and Half Moon Cove.

Best trout bait: Rainbow Power Bait or inflated crawlers fished with a water float.

Best trout lures: Fire tiger Rapala's

Best cat spots: Buoyline in Shadow Cove casting towards dam. Flooded brush and Hermit Cove.

Best cat bait: Bring mackerel and fish shallow.

Best Bass Spots: Close to shore on the points.

Best Bass Lures /bait: crawdads, jigs, lizards, swimbaits.

Water Temp: 69 degrees

Notables: Tues. Satan Shimada, Kyoto, Japan, 10-8 largemouth, Eagle Point.

Prognosis: Our last Mt. Lassen Trout of the season will take place on Tuesday. Our first catfish plant will take place just before our Family Day on May 12th. Cats are on the prowl.

Lake Jennings Free Fishing University will talk about fishing catfish and trout. 1PM Sunday

Assembled by author and local fishing legend Jim Putney, it will have highlighted areas for specific target species. It will be updated seasonally as the fish move. Less exciting this past weekend was the fishing overall. The bass bite was a very early and very late affair. No swimbait fish reported. The trout were decidedly more difficult even though......
